Take your own decisions- esp when it comes to your own life events. Decision taken on somebody else's advice is worse than taking a wrong decision. As a child I used to love Chemistry and Physics. I was really keep to be a scientist. I was passionate about little little things in nature. I used to love literature and poetry. I was good at sports. But my passion wasn't enough to save me from taking a decision based on my relatives' counsel to pursue medicine or to join Btech or even more recent- to join banking sector. I simply ruined my whole career as well as my passion. Now when I toil each day in this banking job- I often ponder how much enjoyable and rewarding a life it would have been had I done what I loved.
If you're a youngster reading this then listen carefully to my advice- Follow your heart and do what you like no matter how difficult or crazy your passion may be. Doing a difficult task which you like is far better than doing something easy which you dint enjoy. Pay packages and postings are all milestones for the beginners. Only your passion drives you forward in the journey ahead. Even if you're late realising your inner voice- its better to be late than sorry. Take that extra effort and walk that extra mile to do what you like the most- be passionate!
