The old sitarist

For illustration purpose only.
Just as a dull day was passing by, the usual train ride, and a usual day at office... I was rushing back through the Churchgate station trying to get a Borivli Fast train on time, my eyes fell on an old man draped in white Kurta and begging. He was about 75 years old, with a Sitar kept right in front of him. Some odd coins here and there in front. Since I was walking at a brisk pace trying to keep up with the other people, so I went past the man to the platform. I could've moved ahead in the same pace and catched the train, but for a moment I thought about the old helpless man and his sitar. He didn't look like a beggar, may be his circumstances forcing him to do so at this age. How can a sportsman and a philanthropist in me just walk past that man unseeing him? Now as I write this blog- I feel proud for whatever little help that I offered to him. That was indeed the moment of the day.I made a person smile. So often we forsee such incidents in our day to day life because of our hectic schedule and lifestyle. What if one day you face the same and nobody helps? Somebody rightly said:

"The purpose of life is a life of purpose"

The monk.. and some contemplation

Great inspirational book
I did some exercise in the morning and later started reading 'The monk who sold his Ferrari' in the crowded Churchgate train.Nice and inspirational book. I'd definitely love to implement some of the good advices being imparted in the book. Contemplating myself, I feel I should concentrate more on inner peace and development rather than lamenting on wage revision and transfer issues. Watching the videos on world war 2 yesterday definitely helped- on how much people have suffered , yet how they have managed to raise themselves from the ruins.

WW2 documentary

Watched this awesome documentary that left me speeechless.
