A Morning Revisiting Old Haunts
My second day in Mumbai began with a nostalgic visit to Vile Parle. Breakfast at the famous Shiv Sagar restaurant was like stepping back in time. The familiar tastes and aromas brought back a flood of memories from my earlier days in Mumbai.
Exploring Markets and Bandra Fort
Post-breakfast, I strolled through the market area, a place where I once frequented for all my needs. The walk down these lanes was a reminder of my past life in this bustling city. My next stop was Bandra Fort. Unfortunately, due to ongoing renovation work and the scorching heat, the visit was brief and less eventful than anticipated. I decided to skip Bandstand and head to my next planned destination.
Change of Plans: Sidestepping Siddhivinayak Temple
Originally, I intended to visit the famous Siddhivinayak Temple in Dadar. However, learning about the strict no-camera policy, I had to alter my plans. Instead, I found solace in the cool confines of the Phoenix Mall in Lower Parel, a perfect retreat from the afternoon heat.
An Afternoon of Classic Mumbai Experiences
Later in the day, I ventured to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, where I indulged in classic Mumbai snacks - Vada Pav and filter coffee - at an old restaurant. This simple meal was a throwback to the quintessential Mumbai experience. The day continued with a visit to the bustling Crawford Market, another familiar spot from my earlier days in the city.
Concluding the Day in Andheri
The day wrapped up in Andheri, where I had dinner at Hotel Ganesh Palace, Andheri East. It was the perfect end to a day filled with revisits and reminiscences.
Reflecting on a Day of Familiar Trails
In summary, my second day in Mumbai was less about discovering new sights and more about reconnecting with places that hold a special place in my heart. It was a journey through the streets I once roamed for shopping, photography, leisure, and hangouts. The day was a beautiful blend of revisiting old favorites and experiencing the timeless charm of Mumbai.
